Come in for the 1st reading of the new year!...and the 1st public reading of the Beat Coffee Writers.

WRITERS READING:

Feature Poet - Erin Lynn Marsh - A recent grad of Lesley University's low-residency MFA program in writing, Erin writes poems about the body and about saints. She was last seen in Minneapolis as a feature reader at the Hennepin County Historical Society. She will be traveling down from Bemidji where she is teaching and pursuing her second Master's degree.

since a few people had asked about them, and I'd just given the christymerry.com website on my cards, I figured I should throw the links up. please remember they are just 'in progress'.

also - for those wanting to know when more poetry will be shared/performed, I will have 5 min. on July 24th as part of the launch of the 'Meditation to Art' project w/Trinity Grace Brooklyn, and one of my poems from Land of My Love will be used August 16th as part of the Trinity Grace services (I will be at the Chelsea 7 pm service). a reading of several poems may also be airing this wknd on a local Massachusetts cable station as part of the Stone Soup reading in Cambridge (date of reading: June 29th).

The Year Without You (She holds my hand)

Hello, folks. Chapbook #3 was released yesterday, May 29, 2009. It is, as I write on the back cover, "The story of a heartbreak in 30 days." The poems were all written in the thirty days following the breakup of an engagement ten years ago; the last poem falls on May 29, 1999. It's really sad. I was lucky enough to have a number of friends and family contribute art and photography to the project, and their own feedback and ideas. The letting go involved in releasing total creative control and bringing other people in was a reflection of the letting go that happened in the context of the relationship, and kind of a picture of the beauty that results from that. I do plan on putting up samples of this book and the other two (seeing as the previous links for the poems are valid no more). Just trying to figure out the best way to do it. :) In the meantime, if you want one of the books, they're $15, and you can either catch me around town, or send me a check with an extra $2.50 tacked on for shipping!

Land of My Love / Israel Trip

Thanks so much everyone, for helping me reach my goals! I sold 140 books and was able to pay for the whole trip by the end of March with the profits plus my tax returns & vacation pay for the year, and took the trip in early March. Poetry Chapbook for Sale

I can't seem to get a picture of the cover to post right now, but I do have my first poetry chapbook in print now - it's called Land of My Love, & it's a compilation I put together to send myself to Israel in March on a tour of a lot of biblical sites with a pastor I know from Hollywood who's taking a group out there; hence, all the poems I chose were somehow biblically inspired or influenced.
